State panchayat minister Pradip Majumdar today flagged off two eco-friendly, air-conditioned buses of the South Bengal State Transport Corporation (SBSTC) in Durgapur.
These two AC buses will operate within the steel township of Durgapur, offering a comfortable travel option during the long, scorching summer season.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Majumdar announced that SBSTC will soon introduce a new AC bus service connecting Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport to Durgapur.
“The office-goers, as well as school and college students, will greatly benefit from these new bus services. In the coming days, more charging stations will be set up in Durgapur for these types of electric AC buses,” he said.
The SBSTC chairman, Subhas Mondal, ADDA chairman Kabi Dutta, and DMC chairperson Anindita Mukherjee were also present at the event.
